“River
Flow”: Information from the Environment Agency makes it
possible to do detailed work on river flows, including producing
charts and analysing information - but so much valuable geography
time can be wasted with pupils entering data. Now we allow you
to concentrate on the geographical aspects of such work whilst
also developing the ICT skills of pupils.
“River Flow” contains a vast amount of data on two
rivers in eastern England with flow measured across a year, a
month and a 24-hour period so that both drought and flood conditions
are included. Structured worksheets allow pupils to rapidly discover
how the spreadsheet can be used to analyse what is happening,
to produce graphs etc. Rated “excellent” by an Ofsted
inspector!
Age Range: can be used across most of the 12-19 range depending
on level of questioning used.
