Winner of the BETT 2006 Primary Science
Software award, Simulation Explorer is a superb program for introducing
children to computer simulations.
Six fun activities have been designed to cater for the needs of upper
and lower Key Stage 2 children via two differentiated levels. Children
can explore the six simulations, make changes to the conditions and
observe the results. All the tests that children carry out within the
program are recorded and can be viewed at any time.
Additional worksheets help children evaluate the simulations and identify the rules an patterns on which they are based.
The program is ideal for covering the requirements outlines in QCA ICT unit 3D: Exploring Simulations.
Clear and informative Teacher information sheets show where Simulation Explorer also supports other specific areas in the QCA schemes of work.
A good innovation of this program is the ability to export all the great graphics used in Simulation Explorer so that teachers can create their own precisely targetted worksheets.
